Wells Fargo Drops Iditarod Sponsorship After Nearly Three Decades
For nearly three decades, Wells Fargo sponsored the Iditarod—a cruel and abusive race that’s killed more than 150 dogs since it began. After five dogs taking part in the 2017 event died in less than a week, PETA met with Wells Fargo executives, who were shocked and horrified to learn about the egregious cruelty that occurs on and off the nearly 1,000-mile course. Following those meetings, the company worked swiftly to end its association with the Iditarod.
