PETA Wants Charges for Cruel Trapping, Killing of Feral Cats

After hearing reports that an outdoorsperson in Wisconsin has been cruelly killing feral cats with Conibear traps, which can break their backs but leave them conscious, PETA is calling for a criminal investigation and appropriate charges. Below, please find a statement from PETA Senior Vice President of Cruelty Investigations Daphna Nachminovitch:

Cruelty-to-animals charges should be brought against anyone who’s killing cats with Conibear traps—medieval devices that slowly crush their terrified victims and cause them to experience agonizing, lingering deaths. Such reported acts of cruelty illustrate why PETA supports humanely trapping homeless cats and transferring them to animal shelters, where they will be safe from dangers such as freezing to death, being hit by cars, and being killed in horrific ways by sadistic people.
