Winter is coming. For those of us who are preparing for snowfall and regretting life decisions that kept us from moving to some sunny paradise, General Mills has great news to warm our souls: It’s launching a line of vegan Progresso soups!
“We know that consumers are more interested in plant-based diets. With Good Natured soups, we’re celebrating vegetables and showing that beans are not boring and lentils can be fun,” Progresso marketing manager Roger Galloway said in a press release. “Whether you start your Mondays going meatless or recently started pinning vegetarian inspiration, our unique flavors will satisfy your hearty appetite.”
The Good Natured line will include three flavors: Hearty Tomato with Spinach and Roasted Garlic, Hearty Corn and Chipotle Chowder, and Hearty Lentil with Garden Vegetables.
You can find 17-ounce cartons of Good Natured soups in stores nationwide, and they’re expected to retail at three bucks and some change.
In recognition of Progresso’s new vegan soups, PETA is presenting General Mills with its Great Taste Award. We also encourage other businesses to follow General Mills’ fine example and feed shoppers’ growing hunger for healthy, humane vegan dishes.
Kudos to Progresso for joining the vegan revolution—and just in time for soup season! As you try out these new vegan soups, why not go all the way and pledge to be vegan 24/7?
