West Virginia Festival Cancels Animal Exhibits
January 2003
PETA contacted organizers of Fayette County, West Virginia’s annual Bridge Day festival after learning that an animal exhibitor with a history of violating federal animal welfare guidelines was allowed to bring an infant tiger for photo ops with the public. We outlined the cruelty and public-safety issues associated with allowing the public to hold and pose for photos with a tiger. Festival organizers responded right away to notify PETA that animal exhibits would no longer be allowed at Bridge Day events!
