Taco Bell Reports Bean Burrito Is Number Two Seller

It’s official: Taco Bell’s bean burrito is the number two seller on the menu. And with the chain’s easy-to-customize menu, you can order it with no cheese to make it vegan, and you can bulk it up with one of the dozens of plant-based ingredients available. A fan favorite is to order it “fresco style”—which replaces the cheese with a delicious pico de gallo—and to add potatoes.

“Our bean burrito is our second most sold item on our menu—so even people who are not vegetarians are eating vegetarian at Taco Bell,” Taco Bell spokesperson Alec Boyle told MUNCHIES. “You can customize nearly any menu item at Taco Bell to make it vegetarian-friendly by substituting beans for meat.”

And Taco Bell isn’t the only fast-food chain that’s listening to kind consumers who want cruelty-free choices. With Chipotle’s organic braised tofu Sofritas, White Castle’s veggie sliders, and vegan options at Subway and Wendy’s, there’s no shortage of quick animal-friendly fare.
