Rouse Properties Bans Sugar Gliders
August 2012
After discovering that a mall owned by Rouse Properties was selling sugar gliders, small gliding opossums native to the South Pacific, PETA immediately asked the company to adopt a policy prohibiting the display and sale of these exotic animals. Sympathetic to the abuse and neglect associated with the exotic-“pet” trade, Rouse Properties agreed to ban the future sales of sugar gliders at its malls.
