A Hinds County resident made a shocking discovery while walking by a creek near Clinton Tinnin Road on November 18: Two puppies had been sealed inside a glass aquarium, with the lid cemented shut, and abandoned by the creek’s bank. With the help of the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office, the trapped puppies were rescued and taken to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League, where they are reportedly recovering from the traumatic experience and may soon be available for adoption.
Authorities have yet to determine who’s responsible for sealing the dogs in the aquarium and dumping them by the creek. That’s why PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way”—is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this crime.
Would you please share this information with your audience? It might be the only way to apprehend those responsible for this act.
“These puppies were terrified, trapped, and left to die by someone with a dangerous lack of empathy,” says PETA Senior Director Colleen O’Brien. “PETA is urging anyone with information to come forward immediately, before anyone else gets hurt.”
Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office at 601-974-2900.
