PETA Offer Comes After Bodies Found in Trash Bags

The bodies of an estimated eight animals, all skinned and dismembered, were found dumped in a Terre Haute alley after a tip led Code Enforcement officers and county health department officials to the gruesome scene. The animals—mostly goats and possibly a coyote or a dog—had all reportedly been dead for at least a week. Law-enforcement officials have yet to make any arrests in connection with the case, and that’s why PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way”—is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the crime.

“Numerous animals have been killed and mutilated, and all animals are in danger as long as the perpetrator is still at large,” says PETA Senior Director Colleen O’Brien. “PETA is urging anyone with information to come forward immediately, before someone else gets hurt.”
