The vegan options at White Castle just keep expanding—on March 1, the chain will begin testing GOOD PLANeT Foods vegan cheese, which you can try on the vegan Veggie Sliders at locations in New Jersey and New York.
In recent years, White Castle has added several plant-based items to its menu, in response to changes in the industry and appeals from compassionate customers. After originally debuting its vegan Dr. Praeger’s patty, the chain reworked its bun recipes to make them entirely vegan, prompting us to present it with a Kind Fast Food Award in 2015. In a statement about the new options, the chain said, “We are committed to … listening to our customers and keeping up with changing tastes by developing new menu items.” We couldn’t be more thrilled!
Here are all the vegan options at White Castle:
Veggie Slider with Cheese (New Jersey and New York only)
White Castle’s original Veggie Slider is a Dr. Praeger’s patty made from carrots, zucchini, peas, spinach, and broccoli on a soft dairy-free bun. At New Jersey and New York locations, you can try it with GOOD PLANeT Foods vegan cheese and top it off with your choice of sweet Thai sauce, onions, pickles, ketchup, or mustard. You might need to eat, like, 20 of these.
Veggie Slider
If you aren’t in New Jersey or New York, don’t worry—you can get the Veggie Sliders without cheese at any White Castle location across 14 states. These iconic sliders are also available in grocery stores, along with the Black Bean Sliders, which are made with black beans, peppers, and corn.
Sides and Drinks
Of course, no order is complete without a side of golden crinkle cut fries. Make that five, if you’re really hungry.
Or if you prefer your potatoes in round, crunchy form, go for the Hash Brown Nibblers, which are served all day.
Wash it all down with a cold soda, iced tea, apple juice, orange juice, or a hot coffee.
What are you waiting for? With all these tasty vegan options, there’s no way you’re ending the night without some White Castle goodies in your stomach!
