Jane Goodall Asks UPS to Stop Shipping Animal Trophies

To coincide with PETA’s protest last week outside of a UPS store in Atlanta—where the company is based—iconic African wildlife defender Jane Goodall has penned a letter urging the company to stop shipping the carcasses of exotic wildlife who’ve been slaughtered by trophy hunters immediately.

“In the wake of Cecil the Lion’s cruel and untimely death, I am writing to you in the hope that UPS will join many of the world’s major airlines and impose a ban on transporting hunting trophies,” writes Goodall to UPS International President Jim Barber.

Hunters are causing a rapid decline among lions, elephants, and many other species in Africa. Airlines that have stopped shipping animal trophies include Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, United Airlines, Air France, KLM, Emirates, Lufthansa, South African Airways, Singapore Airlines, and Quantas.
