Watch out for your wooly wardrobe—Daniella Alonso is coming for it. In a brand-new PETA campaign, available here, the Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 star appears completely nude as she cuts a wool sweater off a mannequin beneath the words “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Wool. Cut Wool Out Of Your Wardrobe.”
“Most people are anti-fur,” says Alonso. “Well, this fur belongs to sheep—and not wearing wool is a no-brainer for me!”
As PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to wear”—recently revealed in its exposé of the international wool industry, gentle sheep are punched in the face, jabbed with electric clippers, slammed to the floor, and stomped on by impatient wool industry workers. Some sheep even die from the abuse, such as one whose neck was twisted by a shearer who confessed, “I get angry.”
Alonso is also known for her roles on The Night Shift and Revolution. She’s part of a long list of celebrities—including Eva Mendes, P!nk, Olivia Munn, Roselyn Sánchez, Elisabetta Canalis, and Penélope Cruz—who have bared it all to help PETA promote kinder wardrobe choices. The ad was shot by top celebrity photographers JSquared.
