Pink Appears Nude in 90-Foot PETA Billboard in Times Square
‘Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur’ Ad Debuts on Eve of New York Fashion Week

Thousands of fashion editors and buyers from around the world who are converging in Manhattan for New York Fashion Week will be greeted by a massive billboard showing singer P!nk wearing nothing but a smile in PETA’s newest “Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” campaign.
The 90-foot-wide billboard will be erected on 42nd Street, between Seventh and Eighth avenues, late Wednesday night before New York Fashion Week kicks off on February 12. The ad can be viewed here.
“I would like to say I’ve always been fur-free,” says the multiplatinum Grammy winner. “Unfortunately, I went through a selfish phase and wore fur on a couple of occasions. But I wised up and now boycott fur completely. I wish everyone was forced to learn the horrors that these animals go through for fashion trends. I hope fur-wearers get bitten in the ass by the same kind of animal they wear on their back.”
Previously, P!nk and Ricky Gervais lent their voices to an edgy video for PETA that used computer-generated imagery and targeted animal skins, but this is the first time the singer has gone naked to make her point. The photo, by Ruven Afanador, is the latest in PETA’s “Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” series, which has featured Eva Mendes, Olivia Munn, and Taraji P. Henson.
