PETA Dismisses Lawsuit Against Hot’s Kitchen for Foie Gras Cruelty

PETA’s lawsuit was brought after we found out that Hot’s Kitchen was illegally selling foie gras, and it’s what prevented the restaurant from continuing to sell it for the almost two years that the law was in effect. In light of the recent federal court ruling, PETA is now moving to dismiss the lawsuit, as it no longer prevents cruelty to animals at this despicable restaurant, where profits from the sale of diseased duck livers are prized and ethics do not have a seat at the table. Investigations at every foie gras farm in the United States and many of the farms in Europe show sick, shivering, dead, and dying birds—some with holes in their necks from having the force-feeding pipe rammed down their throats. On behalf of animals and those who care about stopping cruelty to them, PETA supports the California attorney general’s anticipated appeal in this case.
