Top University in Peru Ends Classroom Animal Labs After PETA Donation
October 2014
Students in psychology classes at the prestigious Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, Peru, will now learn about physiology without harming any animals, thanks to interactive simulation software donated by PETA. After receiving a complaint from a concerned student about classroom laboratories which undergraduate students were being directed to purchase live frogs and bring them to class to cut open and experiment on, PETA convinced the professor to end the use of animals and replace them with interactive computer simulations of the same experiments.
