PETA has just sent a letter thanking Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins today for taking steps to protect Bentley, the dog whose guardian, a nurse who cared for the first Ebola patient in the U.S., was recently diagnosed with Ebola.
“Like many people across the U.S., PETA is relieved to hear that the bond between these two has been recognized and that this beloved canine companion will be kept safe while his guardian recovers,” says PETA President Ingrid Newkirk.
To thank the judge, PETA is sending him a selection of delicious vegan chocolate bars. PETA also plans to send a care package—complete with a comfy harness, vegan treats, and eco-friendly dog toys—for Bentley to enjoy once he is released from quarantine and reunited with his guardian.
