PETA is offering up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for killing a cat, four pigeons, a crow, and a seagull in a manner that may have violated California’s anti-cruelty statute. The seven animals—possibly victims of a religious ritualistic killing—were found dead and arranged in a circle on Sunset Avenue near Rosemont Avenue in Los Angeles on October 10. PETA advocates that residents protect their own animals from possible theft or cruelty by keeping them inside. PETA has reached out to local and state law-enforcement officials and has confirmed that the California Department of Fish and Wildlife will be investigating these allegations. Anyone with information is asked to contact PETA directly at 757-622-7382, extension 8037.
