Baseball season is in full swing, and that means it’s time for PETA’s ranking of the Top 10 Vegetarian-Friendly Major League Ballparks. And there’s good news for Nationals fans: Nationals Park has grabbed the number five spot.

“The Nats might have two of the most exciting young players in the majors. I’m not talking about Bryce Harper and Stephen Strasburg—I mean the roasted cauliflower sandwich and the vegan crab cake, two delicious options that helped make Nationals Park one of the most vegetarian-friendly ballparks of 2014,” says PETA Associate Director Ryan Huling. “Every year, we see more and more vegan options offered at stadiums across the country, which proves that baseball fans are, indeed, on the ball.”

Vegan baseball fans should take a trip to D.C. this summer—it’s definitely Werth it. The concession stands offer vegetarian cheese-steak (hold the cheese to make it vegan), a vegetarian white-bean burger, veggie dogs, a vegetarian chickpea burger, a portobello sandwich, Sloppy Janes, vegan sushi rolls, and cauliflower wraps. Fans in the suites can order mini house made veggie burgers (not vegan), salad with fried green tomatoes, and the hearty vegetable and tofu flatbread with grilled zucchini, tomatoes, marinated and seared tofu, chipotle vegan mayo, and sun-dried tomato pesto.

The San Francisco Giants’ AT&T Park took top honors, thanks in part to its Field Roast frankfurter and the portobello mushroom sandwich. Rounding out the top five are Citizens Bank Park (Philadelphia Phillies), PNC Park (Pittsburgh Pirates), and Citi Field (New York Mets).

PETA also ranked AAA minor league teams. Leading the pack is the Omaha Storm Chasers’ Werner Park, where fans can chow down on black-bean burgers (which can be made vegan by holding the cheese), a hearty tofu hot dog, and the Philly Cheese Phake, which consists of Gardein’s beef-free and chicken-free strips and can be made vegan by omitting the cheese.

The Nationals will receive a framed certificate from PETA. To view the complete rankings, please see PETA’s major league and minor league blog posts.
