Baseball season is in full swing, and that means it’s time for PETA’s ranking of the Top 10 Vegetarian-Friendly Major League Ballparks. And there’s good news for Rockies fans: Coors Field has grabbed the number six spot in the nation.

“Coors Field is sixth on PETA’s Top 10 Vegetarian-Friendly Major League Ballparks list this year, continuing its high on-list percentage. When fans aren’t fetching a dinger from Tulo, they can be found chowing down on one of the stadium’s veggie wraps, bean burritos, or fresh fruit kabobs or its power-hitter, the veggie cheese steak, “says PETA Associate Director Ryan Huling. “Every year, we see more and more vegan options offered at stadiums across the country, which proves that baseball fans are on the ball.”

Rockies faithful have a powerful lineup of meat-free options to choose from, including the Nacho Supreme, served with chips, pico de gallo, jalapeños, and guacamole (vegans, order it dairy-free); the loaded baked potato with carrots, peas, olives, and garbanzo beans; veggie burgers; and made-to-order bean burritos, vegetable hoagies, and veggie wraps. Fans in the suites can also order hummus and flatbread as well as fruit plates.

The San Francisco Giants’ AT&T Park took top honors, thanks in part to its Field Roast frankfurter and its portobello mushroom sandwich. Rounding out the top five are Citizens Bank Park (Philadelphia Phillies), PNC Park (Pittsburgh Pirates), Citi Field (New York Mets), and Nationals Park (Washington Nationals).

PETA also ranked AAA minor league teams. Leading the pack is the Omaha Storm Chasers’ Werner Park, where fans can chow down on black-bean burgers (which can be made vegan by holding the cheese), a hearty tofu hot dog, and the Philly Cheese Phake, which consists of Gardein’s beef-free and chicken-free strips and can be made vegan by omitting the cheese.

The Rockies will receive a framed certificate from PETA. To view the complete rankings, please see PETA’s major league and minor league blog posts.
