Why Are We Urging Pittsburghers to ‘Step It Up’?
When we heard that some of Pittsburgh’s famous public staircases are in danger of being demolished because the city can’t afford to fix them, we stepped right up with a plan: PETA will pay to save some of the steps in exchange for gracing them with our pro-vegan ads.
Pittsburghers who heed the ad’s advice might have an easier time scaling the city’s many steps: Vegan foods are naturally free of cholesterol that can clog arteries and contribute to heart disease. And every resident who takes his or her health to new heights by going vegan will also save more than 100 animals a year from the misery of factory farms and slaughterhouses.
Let’s hope many Pittsburghers take the ad to heart and follow in the footsteps of our 2014 Sexiest Vegan Next Door winner—and Pittsburgh native—Ashley Frohnert, by giving meat, eggs, and dairy products the boot!
