Following KFC’s revolting decision to launch a “KFC Chicken Corsage”—a rotting drumstick mounted on baby’s breath—PETA wrote to Nanz & Kraft Florists, the Louisville-based creator of the corsage, to suggest that it pull the morbid offering or market an addition to it: a bloodied chicken’s head corsage to remind promgoers that the main ingredient in KFC’s “secret recipe” is cruelty to almost 1 billion 6-week-old baby birds every year.

“The disgusting idea that students would ruin their prom night by accessorizing their gorgeous evening wear with the decomposing body part of a small abused bird is so wrong on every level,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “PETA’s corsage will leave promgoers with unforgettable memories of the chickens whose throats are slit and who are scalded to death for KFC, and it might just encourage them to trade in their buckets of fried flesh for healthy, vegan meals.”

By including a bloodied chicken head, PETA’s corsage will remind prom attendees of the main ingredient of KFC’s secret recipe: cruelty.
