Air France Ships Abused Monkeys to Laboratories

For years, PETA has been telling people that Air France ships animals to laboratories to be tormented in cruel experiments. Investigators from the U.K.’s National Anti-Vivisection Society recently went undercover at a large monkey “factory farm” on the island of Mauritius—and saw shocking cruelty to the macaques who were about to be transported by Air France to laboratories in the U.K.

According to a graphic Daily Mail article, frightened baby macaques, who were snatched from their mothers and their homes, were tattooed—without any pain relievers—before being locked inside tiny boxes and flown by Air France to laboratories, where they will likely be force-fed drugs and chemicals in toxicity tests or have holes drilled into their heads for neurological experiments. Disturbing undercover footage also shows that people inserted needles into the monkeys’ eyelids.

In laboratories, these highly social and intelligent beings will spend years being physically and psychologically tormented and confined to cramped cages all alone before eventually being killed when they’re no longer useful.

Air France is the only airline that’s currently shipping monkeys from Mauritius to this horrific fate. You can help these animals by telling Air France officials that you won’t be flying with the airline until it stops sending animals to their deaths.
