Don’t Forget About Turkeys after Thanksgiving
The holiday season is a time to offer others kindness, compassion, and charity. A perfect way to embody those values is to speak up for the animals killed for holiday meals. Turkeys are gentle animals who enjoy having their feathers stroked and listening to music, with which they will often loudly sing along! Yet millions of turkeys are cruelly bred and raised specifically for the holiday season before being violently slaughtered.
In 2021, a PETA exposé showed workers at Plainville Farms, a turkey supplier for Publix, Wegmans, and Harris-Teeter, kicking, throwing, stomping on, beating turkeys with a heavy rod, and mimicking masturbation while putting a turkey between their legs. Twelve former workers were charged with a historic 141 counts of cruelty to animals, yet these grocery chains continue to buy from Plainville Farms.
From commenting on social media to writing a heartfelt letter, every action taken makes a big difference. Complete and share the list below (after taking action on our action alert) to help turkeys this season.
SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS TO TAKE ACTION
