During the lead-up to the 25th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards®, PETA Latino supporters and representatives from local animal-friendly retailer Green Vegan Bags will be in the exclusive backstage Latin GRAMMY® Gift Lounge at the Kaseya Center on Biscayne Boulevard to treat the stars to luxe vegan leather handbags made from apples, cactus, cork, corn, grapes, pineapples, and upcycled and recycled textiles instead of animal skins. VIPs will also be invited to choose from a selection of PETA Latino merchandise, including its paparazzi-proof “The Future Is Vegan” baseball cap.
“Everybody wins with these beautiful bags made from innovative vegan materials,” says PETA Latino Director Alicia Aguayo. “By carrying a sustainable, PETA Latino–approved handbag from Green Vegan Bags, Latin music’s biggest stars can spare animals’ lives, reduce their carbon footprint, and set a kind and stylish example for their fans.”
Cows, crocodiles, and all other animals killed in the fashion industry were individuals who felt pain and fear and valued their lives. Cows develop friendships over time and sometimes hold grudges against other cows who have treated them badly, hatchling alligators generally stay together in a “pod” for up to three years, and snakes smell with their tongue and can even tell which direction a smell is coming from. But PETA entities have documented that workers in the fashion industry bludgeon reptiles for their skin and sometimes skin cows alive.
PETA Latino—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to wear” points out that Every Animal Is Someone and offers free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness. For more information, please visit PETALatino.com or follow PETA on X, Facebook, or Instagram.
