The secret is out: Victoria’s Secret has finally earned its wings from PETA! After months of exchanges with PETA about the cruel ways birds are raised and killed for their feathers, Victoria’s Secret has confirmed that it will use only beautiful handcrafted faux feathers for the models’ Angel wings at its upcoming fashion show, which will feature performances by Tyla, Lisa of Blackpink, and headliner Cher.

PETA is sending the company a delicious vegan cake adorned with birds in thanks for its exemplary move.

We’re tickled pink that the return of Victoria’s Secret’s iconic fashion show will reflect modern values by ditching cruelly obtained feathers for dazzling designs that no bird had to suffer for. This bombshell announcement follows three months of communication with PETA, during which we detailed the cruelty inherent in the feather industry.

It’s no “secret” that feathers used for fashion are stolen from birds such as chickens, turkeys, ducks, or ostriches.

One PETA investigation into the largest ostrich-slaughter operations in the world revealed that workers forced apparently terrified birds into “stun boxes” and slit their throats in full view of their flockmates.

Marabou feathers often seen on catwalks and red carpets are usually obtained from the poultry industry, which confines turkeys and chickens to tiny cages or filthy, crowded sheds for their entire lives.

Approximately 620,000 feathers from ostriches, pheasants, and chickens were reported to have been used for just one Victoria’s Secret show to create the models’ wings—and PETA is flying high knowing that not a single feather on a bird’s head will be plucked for the upcoming show.

Their Wings, Their Way

In nature, ostriches have strong family bonds and share parental duties. Chickens are intelligent, social birds who establish dynamic social structures known as a “pecking order.” All birds have feelings, relationships, and interests of their own—they don’t want to be exploited and killed for accessories.

Be an Angel for Animals: Never Buy Feathers!

Birds’ feathers belong to them. That’s why innovative designers like Stella McCartney opt for animal-free materials that replicate the lightness, movement, and warmth of feathers—without the cruelty.

Pledge never to buy or wear any clothing, accessories, or other items made with feathers:
