The Philadelphia Phillies’ stadium has hit a home run for animals—and PETA is taking notice. The group just named Citizens Bank Park one of North America’s most vegan-friendly ballparks, thanks to an animal-friendly menu that includes an iconic, delicious vegan Philly cheesesteak from Campo’s at Ashburn Alley.

At Greens and Grains, Phillies fans hankering for a stadium classic can grab a Vegan Ballpark Hotdog or try its famous vegan Gyro Pita sandwich—with seitan, dairy-free tzatziki, tomatoes, onions, and shredded lettuce on a grilled pita. The chain also offers a mouthwatering new Buffalo Chik’n Ranch Hoagie—available exclusively at its stadium location—with crispy chik’n, Buffalo sauce, vegan ranch, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles on a hoagie roll.

“From meat-free cheesesteaks topped with savory vegan cheese to delicious seitan gyros, Citizens Bank Park’s vegan offerings will have Phillies fans rooting for more,” says PETA President Ingrid Newkirk. “All the stadiums on PETA’s list are knocking it out of the park with food that leaves animals in peace—not in pieces.”

Other top ballparks recognized by PETA include the Atlanta Braves’ Truist Park, the Chicago White Sox’s Guaranteed Rate Field, the Colorado Rockies’ Coors Field, the New York Mets’ Citi Field, the New York Yankees’ Yankee Stadium, the San Francisco Giants’ Oracle Park, the Seattle Mariners’ T-Mobile Park, the Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Field, the Toronto Blue Jays’ Rogers Centre, and the Washington Nationals’ Nationals Park.

Every person who goes vegan spares nearly 200 animals each year daily suffering and a terrifying death and reduces their own risk of developing heart disease and cancer. PETA’s free vegan starter kit can help those looking to make the switch.

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”—points out that Every Animal Is Someone and offers free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow the group on X, Facebook, or Instagram.
