Anyone taking children to the Peppa Pig Theme Park this month might want to prepare for questions about where bacon comes from, as PETA has erected an unmissable sky-high appeal near the park’s entrance reminding viewers that pigs—just like Peppa—are intelligent, playful, and affectionate animals who don’t deserve to be slaughtered and carved up for food.

“Peppa has shown her young fans that pigs are individuals with emotions and unique personalities, but many children may not make the connection between the animals they love and the meat on their plates, and most children would be horrified to realize they are eating real-life Peppas,” says PETA President Ingrid Newkirk. “PETA’s appeal encourages families to start an honest dialogue about their food choices and nurture young people’s natural empathy by going vegan.”
PETA—which previously wrote to the CEOs of Hasbro Inc. and Merlin Entertainments asking them to serve vegan food at Peppa Pig theme parks—offers a free vegan starter kit filled with tips to help anyone looking to make the switch.
PETA’s billboard is located at 6171 Cypress Gardens Blvd., near Peppa Pig Theme Park and LEGOLAND Florida Resort. (See the Google Maps link here.)
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”—points out thatEvery Animal Is Someone and offers free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow the group on X, Facebook, or Instagram.
