Please see the following statement from PETA Senior Vice President Kathy Guillermo regarding the just-released closed-door testimony before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic:
Anthony Fauci should have just held up a sign saying, “Don’t ask me. I don’t know anything,” because his admission that he blindly signed off on proposals for experiments in overseas laboratories without knowing what they involved or even whether foreign facilities were being held accountable to any standard at all explains how fraudulent malaria experimenters got $17 million of U.S. funding—until PETA exposed that their “laboratory” consisted of only a pile of dilapidated cages under a tarp in a jungle. PETA’s efforts got this funding cut and the monkeys rescued, yet NIH is still sending fistfuls of cash to foreign labs to addict animals to cocaine and infect them with sexually transmitted diseases without a scrap of oversight. NIH needs an overhaul, top to bottom, and Congress could start by passing the CARGO Act, which would prohibit NIH from funding animal experiments outside the U.S.
