Chopped “Liver” Spread

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp.  oil
  • 1/2 lb.  mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 Tbsp.  water

Instructions

  • Warm the oil in a large pan. Sauté the mushrooms and onion for 8 minutes.
  • Transfer to a blender or food processor. Add the walnuts, salt, pepper, and water. Blend until smooth.
  • Serve as a spread for matzo.
