Up to $5,000 Reward Offered by PETA in Naugatuck Dog-Dumping Case

PETA is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction on cruelty charges of the person(s) responsible for abandoning a dog found at the Naugatuck Industrial Park on Saturday. Desmond’s Army Animal Law Advocates, a Connecticut-based organization, is also offering a reward of $3,000, bringing the total reward to $8,000.
The dog, a female tan-and-white pit bull, was found near a plastic transport crate lying in the road. Both the dog and the crate were “covered in feces,” according to the Naugatuck Police Department, suggesting a prolonged period of confinement. The dog was taken into the custody of Naugatuck Animal Control.

No leads or suspects have been identified, so PETA is asking for the public’s help.
“Someone confined and abandoned this dog, leaving her terrified and confused on the side of the road,” says PETA Senior Vice President Colleen O’Brien. “PETA asks anyone with information to come forward immediately, as other animals potentially in this person’s custody could be in grave danger.”
