Please see the following statement from PETA Senior Vice President Kathy Guillermo and the video regarding the horse Bus Buzz, who was injured on Friday, November 3, during the final race on day one of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Santa Anita Park:

Where is Bus Buzz? PETA captured video of the Thoroughbred’s injury at Santa Anita Park in the 10th race on Friday, the first day of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, and it appears serious. Reporters were told that Bus Buzz would undergo surgery on Sunday, even though no diagnosis was made public, and since then it appears that not one word has been released. If the owner, trainer, and track are hoping we’ll forget about Bus Buzz, that’s not going to happen. They must come clean now and tell the public what happened to this horse.

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to use for entertainment or abuse in any other way”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow the group on X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, or Instagram.
