New Braunfels, Texas, Passes Lifesaving Ban on Puppy Mill Sales
After PETA wrote to the city council and rallied local residents in support, New Braunfels became the 14th city in Texas to prohibit retail pet shops from selling dogs and cats from commercial breeders. Legislation like this is key to reducing the number of unwanted and abandoned animals who flood our nation’s shelters, and it’s also an important step toward preventing breeders from continuously producing animals who suffer from painful genetic conditions.
