It’s a vegan turkey free-for-all! On Saturday, PETA and Animal Defenders Greater Lehigh Valley will delight shoppers and passersby by giving out free vegan roasts stuffed with wild rice as part of PETA’s “ThanksVegan” campaign, which asks everyone to give turkeys a break this holiday
When: Saturday, November 20, 1–3 p.m.
Where: PPL Center, 701 Hamilton St., Allentown
“When people realize that turkeys love their families, feel pain and fear, and value their lives, they’re eager to put a Tofurky on the table,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “PETA offers recipes, shopping tips, and more so that everyone can enjoy a delicious ThanksVegan meal that leaves gentle birds in peace.”
Major grocery chains across the country—including Whole Foods, Weis, Shoprite, and Target—are showcasing vegan holiday fare,
and everyone can find delectable holiday recipes in PETA’s ThanksVegan menu guide.
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview.
