When PETA supporter, animal rights activist, and gorgeous vegan Alicia Silverstone announced that she would be releasing a line of eco-friendly, cruelty-free cosmetics, we were stoked. She’s been our homegirl in the fight for animal rights for years, and we’re happy to support her efforts. Plus, we love opportunities to encourage cruelty-free living. But it got us thinking: Why is it tough to find cosmetics that are good for animals and the environment?
Since we like to make kind shopping easy, we rounded up a batch of cruelty-free, eco-friendly products for you to try, including one of Silverstone’s new products. Check ’em out, then share with your friends so we can all pamper ourselves while being kind to animals and the Earth.
Get your citrus fix with the Each Peach massage bar, made with fruity avocado and mango kernel butters, cocoa butter, and shea butter. LUSH does not test on animals, and all its products are organic and handmade.

6. Maxim Organic Cotton Tampons
Tampons are simple: cotton, applicator, wrapper, right? Not so fast. Plenty of tampons may seem like they’re comprised of cotton when they’re really a combo of wood pulp and synthetics. For 100-percent real, breathable organic cotton, check out Maxim Organic Cotton Tampons. Chlorine-free, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, and biodegradable, these tampons are as good for your bod as they are for the Earth.
