In time for the March 1st grand opening of the Peppa Pig Theme Park—which is keeping pigs off the menu but hypocritically dishing up other animals’ flesh—PETA has erected an unmissable sky-high appeal in the area urging everyone to leave Peppa and all her friends off their plates by going vegan.
PETA supporters will also cause a ruckus on opening morning, slamming the park for putting meat on the menu in Peppa’s world, where cows, chickens, and pigs should all be protected from slaughter.
When: Saturday, March 1, 9 a.m.
Where: Peppa Pig Theme Park, 8851 Blvd 26, North Richland Hills

“Peppa has shown her young fans that animals are individuals with emotions and unique personalities, and most children would be horrified to realize they are eating real-life Peppas, Mr. Bulls, and Mrs. Cows,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “PETA is urging the Peppa Pig Theme Park to nurture young people’s natural empathy by serving exclusively tasty vegan food.”
PETA notes that pigs are soothed by music, love playing ball, sleep in “pig piles,” and even enjoy getting massages. At slaughterhouses, workers shoot pigs in the head with a captive-bolt gun, hang them up by one leg, and cut their throat—often while they’re still conscious. Each person who goes vegan spares nearly 200 animals every year and lowers their carbon footprint and disease risk.
PETA previously wrote to the CEOs of Hasbro Inc. and Merlin Entertainments, calling them out for clearly understanding why it’d be wrong to serve pork and bacon at Peppa theme parks but still cashing in on “beef pepperoni” and other meaty options that have no place at a purportedly animal-friendly amusement park. PETA urges the companies to serve only healthy and humane vegan fare, and PETA offers a free vegan starter kit to help anyone eager to take matters into their own hands.
